Expert facilitation combines the art of leadership and knowledge about group processes and group dynamics with the wisdom and experience to know when a group should be allowed to explore a new path or brought back to the topic at hand.
Wildwood’s facilitators are experts who know their role is to create an environment of respect, openness and trust; to remain impartial; to manage conflict among group members; and to help group members develop a shared understanding of their issues, opportunities, and objectives and agree on a way to move forward.
Our consultants work with clients to clarify their goals, develop session aims, and agree on facilitation processes to achieve those aims. In addition to facilitating meetings, workshops, and retreats, we will also work with clients to prepare information that session participants need ahead of time, provide a report summarizing the discussion and decisions reached during the facilitated session, and provide follow-up services ranging from process consultation to team building.
When working with clients on organizational development, our consultants always start with process not product. First we collaborate with clients to define their opportunities and challenges and work with them to co-create custom interventions, which may take one of many forms. For example, some interventions involve facilitating strategic planning while others involve designing leadership development curriculum, working with the board to increase its effectiveness, etc.
We bring a systems perspective to organizational development that often introduces clients to a new way of thinking about the three factors at work within teams, departments, and organizations: knowledge management, systems science, and human interactions. Our systems perspective has helped many clients see and realize their potential to achieve profound change.
